Live and Loud

Ozzy Osbourne

℗ 1993 Epic Records E2K 48973

Ozzy Osbourne • 1993 • Live and Loud

Ozzy Osbourne has gotten more mileage out of live albums than any other hard rocker because he knows how to play the game. He knows how to make each record special, or at least a little bit different. Usually, this just means showcasing his new guitarist; at other times it just means showing off the new material. With Live and Loud, a double-disc set released in 1993, it was a combination of parading Zakk Wylde in a live setting and putting together a nifty limited-edtion package (the initial CD pressing of the album was designed as a mock speaker and contained two tattoos). Musically, there isn't much new, outside of a couple of recent songs, delivered with skill and professionalism by Ozzy's new band. Still, there's a lot to be said for professionalism — there may not be any surprises, but there are no disappointments. Besides, Ozzy's live records are always enjoyable, since they have a more consistent set of material than his studio albums, plus a looser feel that is quite appealing. So, even if Live & Loud isn't a necessary album, it is an entertaining one. — Stephen Thomas Erlewine.

Paranoid

(Butler — Iommi — Osbourne — Ward)

Finished with my woman 'cause she couldn't help me with my mind
people think I'm insane because I am frowning all the time
All day long I think of things but nothing seems to satisfy
Think I'll lose my mind if I don't find something to pacify

Can you help me occupy my brain?
Oh yeah

I need someone to show me the things in life that I can't find
I can't see the things that make true happiness, I must be blind

Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I cannot feel and love to me us so unreal

And so as you hear these words telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life I wish I could but it's too late

I Don't Want to Change the World

(Osbourne — Wylde — Castillo — Kilmister)

Standing at the crossroads, world spinning round and round
Know which way I'm going, you can't bring me down
Don't you try and teach me no original sin
I don't need your pity for the shape I'm in

I Don't Wanna Change The World
I don't want the world to change me
I Don't Wanna Change The World
I don't want the world to change me

Tell me I'm a sinner I got news for you
I spoke to God this morning and he don't like you
You telling all the people the original sin
He says he knows you better than you'll ever know him

I Don't Wanna Change The World
I don't want the world to change me
I Don't Wanna Change The World
I don't want the world to change me

You know it ain't easy
You know it ain't fair
So don't try to please me
Because I really don't care

Don't tell me stories 'cause yesterday's glories
Have gone away, so far away
I've heard it said there's a light up ahead
Lord I hope and pray I'm here to stay

Tell me I'm a sinner I got news for you
I spoke to God this morning and he don't like you
Don't you try and teach me no original sin
I don't need your pity for the shape I'm in

I Don't Wanna Change The World
I don't want the world to change me
I Don't Wanna Change The World
I don't want the world to change me
I Don't Wanna Change The World
I don't want the world to change me
I Don't Wanna Change The World
I don't want the world to change me

Desire

(Osbourne —Wylde — Castillo — Kilmister)

I always knew what I wanted to be
I knew for sure, I knew for sure
Always knew it was them or me
I wanted more, more and more
It's all right, it's OK.
None of them people gonna take it away
They don't know like I know
And I can't stop 'cause it drives them crazy

It drives them crazy, 'cause I won't be cool
It's too late baby

It's the same old desire
Nothing changed, nothing's the same
Burning like fire
Don't you ever take my name in vain

Always nothing, somewhere else to be
Moving on, moving on
Scream at you and you scream at me
Right or wrong, right or wrong
It's all right, it's OK.

No one's ever gonna take us away
'Cause they don't know, like I know
I gotta keep rockin', 'cause it makes me crazy

It makes me crazy, who needs to be cool
Life's amazing

It's the same old desire
Crazy train, crazy train
Burning like fire
Don't you ever take my name in vain
Same old desire
Nothing changed, nothing's the same
Burning like fire
Don't you ever take my name in vain
Oh yeah

Same old desire
Nothing changed, nothing's the same
Burning like fire
Don't you ever take my name in vain
Same old desire
Crazy train, crazy train
Burning like fire
Don't you ever take my name in vain

Mr. Crowley

(Daisley — Osbourne — Rhoads)

Mr. Crowley, what went on in your head
Mr. Crowley, did you talk with the dead
Your life style to me seemed so tragic
With the thrill of it all
You fooled all the people with magic
You waited on Satan's call
Mr. Charming, did you think you were pure
Mr. Alarming, in nocturnal rapport
Uncovering things that were sacred manifest on this Earth
Conceived in the eye of a secret
And they scattered the afterbirth

Mr. Crowley, won't you ride my white horse
Mr. Crowley, it's symbolic of course
Approaching a time that is classic
I hear maidens call
Approaching a time that is drastic
Standing with their backs to the wall
Was it polemically sent
I wanna know what you meant
I wanna know
I wanna know what you meant

I Don't Know

(Daisley — Osbourne — Rhoads)

People look to me and say
Is the end near when is the final day
What's the future of mankind
How do I know, I got left behind
Everyone goes through changes
Looking to find the truth
Don't look at me for answers
Don't ask me - I don't know
How I'm supposed to know
Hidden meanings that will never show

Fools and prophets from the past
Life's a stage and we're all in the cast
Ya gotta believe in someone asking me who is right,
Asking me who to follow, don't ask me, I don't know,
I don't know - I don't know - I don't know

Nobody ever told me I found out for myself
Ya gotta believe in foolish miracles
It's not how you play the game
It's if you win or lose you can choose
Don't confuse win or lose, it's up to you
It's up to you - it's up to you - it's up to you

People look to me and say
Is the end near when is the final day
What's the future of mankind
How do I know, I got left behind
Everyone goes through changes
Looking to find the truth
Don't look at me for answers
Don't ask me - I don't know
How I'm supposed to know

Hidden meanings that will never show
Fools and prophets from the past
Life's a stage and we're all in the cast
Ya gotta believe in someone asking me who is right,
Asking me who to follow, don't ask me, I don't know,
I don't know - I don't know - I don't know.

Flying High Again

(Osbourne — Rhoads — Paisley — Kerslake)

Got a crazy feeling I don't understand
Gotta get away from here
Feelin' like I shoulda kept my feet on the ground
Waiting for the sun to appear

Mamma's gonna worry
I been a bad bad boy
No use saying sorry
It's somethin' that I enjoy

Cause you can't see what my eyes see
(I can see it, I can see it)
And you can't be inside of me, flying high again

I can see through mountains watch me disappear
I can even touch the sky
Swallowing colours of the sound I hear
Am I just a crazy guy (you bet).

Mamma's gonna worry
I been a bad bad boy
No use saying sorry
It's somethin' that I enjoy

If you could be inside my head
You'd see that black and white is read
Flying high again
Flying high again
Flying high again
Flying high again come on and join me

Flying high again
Flying high again
Flying high again
Flying high again come on and join me

Daddy thinks I'm lazy he don't understand
Never saw inside my head
People think I'm crazy but I'm in demand
Never heard a thing I said.

Mamma's gonna worry
I been a bad bad boy
No use saying sorry
It's somethin' that I enjoy

Flying high again
Flying high again
Flying high again
Flying high again

Suicide Solution

(Daisley — Osbourne — Rhoads)

I said Goodbye to romance
Goodbye to friends
Goodbye to all the past
I guess that we'll meet, we'll meet in the end
Evil thoughts and evil doings
Cold, alone you hang in ruins
Thought that you'd escape the reaper
You can't escape the Master Keeper
'Cause you feel life's unreal and you're living a lie
Such a shame who's to blame and you're wondering why
Then you ask from your cask is there life after birth
What you sow can mean Hell on this earth
Now you live inside a bottle
The reaper's travelling at full throttle
It's catching you but you don't see
The reaper is you and the reaper is me
Breaking laws, knocking doors
But there's no one at home
Made your bed, rest your head
But you lie there and moan
Where to hide, Suicide is the only way out
Don't you know what it's really about
I said Goodbye to romance
Goodbye to friends
Goodbye to all the past
I guess that we'll meet, we'll meet in the end

Goodbye to Romance

(Daisley — Osbourne — Rhoads)

Yesterday has been and gone
Tomorrow will I find the sun or will it rain
Everybody's having fun except me I'm the lonely one
I live in shame

I said Goodbye to romance
Goodbye to friends
Goodbye to all the past
I guess that we'll meet, we'll meet in the end

I've been the King, I've been the clown
Still broken wings can't hold me down
I'm free again
The jester with the broken crown
It won't be me this time around to love in vain
I said Goodbye to friends and to romance
And to all of you
And to all of you

I said Goodbye to romance
Goodbye to friends
Goodbye to all the past
I guess that we'll meet, we'll meet in the end
And the weathers lookin' fine and I think the sun
Will shine again
And I feel I've cleared my mind all the past is left behind

Again

I said Goodbye to romance
Goodbye to friends
Goodbye to all the past
I guess that we'll meet, we'll meet in the end

Shot in the Dark

(Daisley — Osbourne — Williams)

Out on the street I'm stalking the night
I can hear my heavy breathing
Paid for the kill but it doesn't seem right
Something there I can't believe in
Voices are calling from inside my head
I can hear them, I can hear them
Vanishing memories of thing that were said
They can't try to hurt me now

But a shot in the dark
One step away from you
Shot in the dark
Always creeping upon you

Taught by the powers that preach over me
I can hear their empty reason
I wouldn't listen, I learnt how to fight
I opened my mind to treason
But just like a wounded and when it's too late
They'll remember, they'll surrender
Never a care for the people who hate
Underestimate me now

But a shot in the dark
One step away from you
Shot in the dark
Not a thing that you can do
Shot in the dark
Always creeping upon you

But just like a wounded and when it's too late
They'll remember, they'll surrender
Never a care for the people who hate
Underestimate me now

But a shot in the dark
One step away from you
Shot in the dark
Not a thing that you can do
Shot in the dark
Always creeping upon you

No More Tears

(Osbourne — Wylde — Castillo — Inez — Purdell)

The light in the window is a crack in the sky
A stairway to darkness in the blink of an eye
A levee of tears to learn she'll never be coming back
The man in the dark will bring another attack

Your momma told you that you're not supposed to talk to strangers
Look in the mirror tell me do you think your life's in danger here ya

No more tears

Another day passes as the night closes in
The red light goes on to say it's time to begin

I see the man around the corner waiting, does he see me?
I close my eyes and wait to hear the sound someone screaming here

No more tears

So now that it's over can't we just say good-bye?
I'd like to move on and make the most of the night
Maybe a kiss before I leave you this way
Your lips are so cold I don't know what else to say

I never wanted it to end this way my love my darling
Believe me when I say to you in love I think I'm falling here

No more tears

Miracle Man

(Daisley — Osbourne — Wylde)

I'm looking for a Miracle Man that tells me no lies,
I'm looking for a Miracle Man who's not in disguise
I don't know where he'll come from
And I don't know where he's been,
But it's not our Jimmy Sinner
Because he's so obscene.

Miracle Man got busted, Miracle Man got busted.
Today I saw a Miracle Man, on TV cryin',
Such a hypocritical man, born again, dying.
He don't know where he's goin' but we know where he's been,
It was our little Jimmy Singer on the screen.

Miracle Man got busted,
Miracle Man got busted,
Miracle Man got busted,
Miracle Man.

A devil with a crucifix, brimstone and fire,
He needs another carnal fix to take him higher and higher.
Now Jimmy he got busted with his paints down,
Repent ye wretched sinners, self righteous clown.

Miracle Man got busted,
Miracle Man got busted,
Miracle Man got busted,
Miracle Man got busted,
Miracle Man got busted,
Miracle Man got busted,
Miracle Man got busted.

War Pigs

(Butler — Iommi — Osbourne — Ward)

Generals gathered in their masses
just like witches at black masses
evil minds that plot destruction
sorcerers of death's construction
in the fields the bodies burning as the war machine keeps turning
death and hatred to mankind
poisoning their brainwashed minds… Oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
they only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait 'till their judgement day comes, yeah!

Now in darkness, world stops turning
as the war machine keeps burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of god has sturck the hour
Day of judgement, god is calling on their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings
ALL RIGHT NOW!

Bark at the Moon

(Osbourne)

Screams break the silence
Waking from the dead of night
Vengence is boiling
He's returned to kill the light
Then when he's found who he's looking for
Listen in awe and you'll hear him

Bark at the moon

Years spent in torment
Buried in a nameless
Grave
Now he has risen
Miracles would have to save
Those that this beast is looking for
Listen in awe and you'll hear him

Bark at the moon

They cursed and buried him
Along with shame
And thought his timeless soul had gone
In empty burning hell-unholy one
But now he's returned to prove them wrong (oh no)

Howling in shadows.
Living in a lunar spell
He finds his heaven.
Spewing from the mouth of hell

And when he finds who he's looking for
Listen on awe and you'll hear him
Bark at the moon.

Mama, I'm Coming Home

(Osbourne — Wylde — Kilmister)

Times have changed and times are strange
Here I come, but I ain't the same
Mama, I'm Coming Home
Times gone by seem to be
You could have been a better friend to me
Mama, I'm Coming Home

Took me in and you drove me out
Yeah, you had me hypnotized
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes

You made me cry, told me lies
But, I can't stand to say goodbye
Mama, I'm Coming Home
I could be right, I could be wrong
Hurts so bad, it's been so long
Mama, I'm Coming Home

Selfish love yeah we're both alone
The ride before a fall
But I'm gonna take this heart of stone
I just got to have it all

I've seen you face a hundred times
Everyday we've been apart
I don't care about the sunshine, yeah

'Cause Mama, Mama, I'm Coming Home
I'm Coming Home
You took me in and you drove me out
Yeah, you had me hypnotized
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes

I've seen you face a hundred times
Everyday we've been apart
I don't care about the sunshine, yeah

'Cause Mama, Mama, I'm Coming Home
I'm Coming Home
I'm Coming Home
I'm Coming Home

Crazy Train

(Daisley — Osbourne — Rhoads)

Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it's not too late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate
Mental wounds not healing
Life is a bitter shame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

I've listened to preachers
I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts
Who makes their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you life the role
Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words
Yeh - h
Heirs of a cold war
That's what we've become
Inheriting troubles I'm mentally numb
Crazy I just cannot bear
I'm living with something that just isn't fair
Mental wounds not healing
Who and what's to blame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

Black Sabbath

(Butler — Iommi — Osbourne — Ward)

What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black which points at me
Turn around quick, and start to run
Find out I'm the chosen one
Oh nooo!

Big black shape with eyes of fire
Telling people their desire
Satan's sitting there, he's smiling
Watches those flames get higher and higher
Oh no, no, please God help me!

Is it the end, my friend?
Satan's coming 'round the bend
people running 'cause they're scared
The people better go and beware!
No, no, please, no!

Changes

(Butler — Iommi — Osbourne — Ward)

I feel unhappy
I feel so sad
I lost the best friend
That I ever had

She was my woman
I loved her so
But it's too late now
I've let her go

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

We shared the eve's
We shared each day
In love together
We found a way

But soon the world
Had its evil way
My heart was blinded
Love went astray

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes

It took so long
To realize
That I can still hear
Her last goodbyes

Now all my days
Are filled with tears
Wish I could go back
And change these years

I'm going through changes
I'm going through changes
